  • an electronic device that allows users to pick up their e-mail messages when they are away from their computer. Although very useful for employees who are often out of the office or those taking advantage of flexible working practices, some employees have found it hard to switch off from work during their leisure time and constantly check their BlackBerries for messages. This addictive aspect of the devices has led to their being referred to as "Crackberries" by some commentators.
